Antonio Robles Simmons was born in the beautiful and tropical Republic of Panamá, and is the fourth of eight siblings. His mother and grandmother formed his lifelong inspiration to always look ahead with an optimistic spirit as he strived to achieve his dreams.
Antonio attended Gil Colunje Elementary School in El Marañón and graduated from the prestigious Instituto Nacional de Panamá, el Nido de Águilas. After graduation, he studied at the Universidad de Panamá for a couple years before migrating to the USA.
While in New York, Antonio graduated from Bronx Community College with an associate degree. He later earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the City College of the City University of New York, and a second master’s degree in educational leadership from the renowned Bank Street Principal Institute of New York.
After 38 years of service to the children of New York City, Antonio retired from the NYC Department of Education. He now offers his expertise as a bilingual education and educational leadership consultant.
Antonio’s commitment to empowering communities, assisting the needy and making the world a better place led him to become a member of the Lions Club International - an organization that serves the underprivileged wherever and whenever there is a need. The Lions Club International stands by its mission – We Serve. Currently, Antonio serves the Lions Clubs of Brooklyn and Queens as the District Governor for 2023-2024.
Antonio is married to Betty Davis Robles for 46 years. He and Betty are the proud parents of Raenelle, Rodrigo, and Ricaurte and the blessed grandparents of four grandchildren.
