The Panamanian Square Dance Group is a vibrant organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating its rich heritage through the joy of dance and community service. Since its founding in 2001, this quadrille dance group has performed at various events and venues, including Brooklyn's Borough Hall, churches, nursing homes, and parks.
Performances and Events
The group's performances extend far beyond New York, with notable appearances at the Etnia Negra festivities in Panamá and New York, as well as Encuentro celebrations in various states. They have also graced numerous private events with their performances.
Community Service
Committed to giving back to the community, the Panamanian Square Dance Group has generously donated to various causes, including:
- Hospital Regional Bocas del Toro (Panamá)
- The Salem Mission Church (Rio Abajo, Panamá)
- Asilo Hogar Atlántico (Colon, Panamá)
- Asilo Hogar Santa Luis (Sabanitas, Panamá)
Additionally, the group is dedicated to feeding the homeless in Brooklyn and sending barrels of necessities and supplies to Asilo Hogar Santa Luis, along with financial support. They visit the nursing home at least three times a year, spreading joy and compassion to the residents.
Mission
